In the Moment is a series born from surrender — a raw, intuitive exploration of presence through mark-making. Each piece begins without a plan, without expectation, without knowing what will come. The only rule: respond to what’s already there. One gesture invites the next. A color shift leads to a texture. A scribble becomes a shape. Thought gives way to instinct.
This body of work functions as a visual stream of consciousness — a record of immediacy, of reaction and rhythm. There is no sketch, no map. The process is entirely improvisational, unfolding moment by moment. It’s not about control, but trust. Trusting the hand. Trusting the material. Trusting that meaning will emerge, or maybe that it doesn’t need to.
Working across layers of media — graphite, ink, acrylic, watercolor, pastel — I allow each material to speak, to interrupt, to redirect. The process is playful, chaotic, grounding, and deeply freeing. These paintings are not about outcomes. They are about being fully in the now, embracing unpredictability, and allowing intuition to lead the way.
In the Moment is a celebration of the creative process as a living, breathing act — not polished or premeditated, but honest and alive. In this space, freedom isn’t found in perfection, but in permission — to move, to react, to let go, and simply respond to whatever comes next.
